BELLEVUE, Wash. --  The Bellevue police chief is urging the mother of Sky Metalwala to work with detectives to find her son, who has been missing for four years.

Chief Steve Mylett says Julia Biryukova hasn’t spoken to investigators since reporting her 2-year-old missing in 2011.

“If I had one of my children that was missing, would I not do everything in my power to help the police locate my child?” asked Mylett.

Bellevue Police revealed they are now following up on new leads, including a tip that came in Thursday morning.

This week marks four years since the toddler disappeared on Nov. 6, 2011. Police said Biryukova told investigators she left Sky in her car after it ran out of gas. She walked with her daughter for help and when they returned, Sky was gone. Detectives say there were inaccuracies in her story, including the fact that her car was not out of gas.

“Four years have passed; so many memories my family has lost,” said Solomon Metalwala, Sky’s father.

Metalwala believes Sky’s mother knows more about their son’s disappearance.

Police sources tell Q13 FOX News reporter Brandi Kruse that since Sky’s disappearance, Biryukova remarried and now has a 2-year-old boy.

Sky’s father remains hopeful that someone has information that can help police find his son.

“It will take only one person to finally come out and tell what happened,” said Metalwala.

Mylett said of the father, “He’s not giving up hope, and if he’s not giving up hope, I’m not giving up hope.”

Since Sky disappeared, investigators have pursued more than 2,500 tips and spent 14,000 hours on the case at a cost of over $2 million, police said.

As of Thursday afternoon, Q13 FOX News was unable to reach Biryukova and is waiting on a response from an attorney who represented her.
