GOP-endorsed candidate for Commissioner of Public Lands talks about her vision for forest health

With wildfires becoming more intense and frequent even in Western Washington, candidates who are running to be the next Commissioner of Public Lands will have to be ready to fight the emergency.

FOX 13 is continuing the conversation with candidates who have been recently endorsed by the state GOP party for some of the big races in November.

On Friday, the focus was on the commissioner race.

Sue Kuehl Pederson is running for a second time. She says her love for salmon and nature set her on a path to a career in fisheries research. After that, she worked in the power industry.

FOX 13's Hana Kim talked to Kuehl about her priorities and ideas during a sit-down interview.
