Seattle light rail service will shut over weekend, shuttles offered

Light rail riders in Seattle will again have a weekend of disruptions to navigate.

Sound Transit has been doing weekend shut-downs to prepare for 2 Line integration and improving infrastructure at selected stations, like the UW station this weekend.

Sound Transit representatives say there will be another similar service disruption on Sunday, Feb. 23 and the following weekend.

What's next:

From Friday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 16, shuttle buses will replace service between Capitol Hill and SODO.

The shuttles will run every 10-15 minutes, according to Sound Transit. Train service will continue from Lynnwood to Capitol Hill and SODO to Angle Lake every 15 minutes.

What they're saying:

This weekend's disruption will "allow for the completion of tie-in work that will connect the 1 Line and 2 Lines as well as work to repair overhead power at the UW Station," according to the Sound Transit project page
