Federal Way City Council votes to ban marijuana businesses within city limits

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The Federal Way City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to ban marijuana retail, production and processing businesses within city limits.

This ordinance replaces a temporary ban placed on marijuana businesses that the city imposed in the spring.

The action comes after the city of Federal Way asked voters on the November ballot whether to allow marijuana businesses in the city.  About 61% of voters said no.
