Earthquake near Carnation, Washington registers at 3.4 magnitude

CARNATION, Wash. - A 3.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Washington Cascades early Thursday morning.

According to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network (PNSN), the earthquake hit around 5:02 a.m. It was initially reported as a 3.5, but was reviewed and updated to a 3.4.

Seismologists say the quake struck about 8.6 miles east of Carnation and about 30.3 miles southeast of Everett.
