Oregon man dies after crash in Washington bike race

AUBURN, Wash. -- An Oregon man was killed over the weekend during a bike race near Flaming Geyser State Park in Washington.

King County officials said Monday the man hit a guard rail near SE Green Valley Rd & 218th Ave SE. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center where he later died of his injuries.

The 29-year-old from Albany, Oregon, was riding downhill on Saturday morning when he lost control of his bicycle and collided with a guardrail.

The King County sheriff's office is investigating the accident.
