Fife teacher accused of inappropriate communications with 15-year-old girl

FIFE, Wash. -- A teacher at Fife's Columbia Junior High School has been arrested for allegedly having inappropriate communications with a 15-year-old girl via Twitter, The News Tribune of Tacoma reported Monday.

The 33-year-old man was arrested early Saturday.

According to Fife police, a 15-year-old student at Fife High School told her teacher she had received some tweets from a former teacher and that they had become "suggestive."

The girl's teacher told administrators, who notified police. Detectives booked the man into jail after he refused to answer questions. He bailed out Sunday.

Police said the man is expected to be formally charged this week.

He is not being named because he has not been charged with a crime yet.
