CAPTURED: Man accused of stealing guns, jewelry from 25 Bainbridge Island homes

  Captured 8/26/14  The Bainbridge Island fugitive accused of breaking into dozens of homes was arrested in Roanoke, Virginia last night by the US Marshals. He was taken to the Roanoke City Jail awaiting extradition back to Washington.  Det. Scott Weiss says they received several tips as a result of our coverage that were valuable in assisting in the apprehension of Mr. Lucas. Original Story BAINBRIDGE ISLAND -- Police are searching for this man suspected of stealing guns and jewelry from as many as 25 homes. 33-year-old Jason Michael Lucas has a $250,000 warrant for his arrest. “We believe Lucas has fled the state to avoid arrest, and we are working with out-of-state authorities and the US Marshals Office to apprehend him," said Bainbridge Island Police Chief Matthew Hamner. Police say Lucas is a felon with five previous convictions for residential burglary and several others for theft and possession of a stolen gun. Lucas is 5-foot-7, 180-pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a goatee and a mustache. Police say he drives a gray 1987 Ford pickup truck with Washington license plates B60138F.
