69-year-old kayaker who capsized near Skykomish found uninjured

SKYKOMISH — Searchers on Friday night found a 69-year-old man who had been kayaking on the Beckler River east of Skykomish, capsized and was last seen holding onto a branch in the river.

The King County Sheriff’s Office tweeted, “Kayaker is uninjured and on his way home.”

The Snohomish County sheriff’s dive team was assisting the King County Sheriff’s Office in the search for the missing kayaker. The call reporting the man in trouble came into the sheriff’s office at about 7 p.m., the office said.

No other details were immediately available.
