SUMNER — Police on Monday announced that an anonymous donor is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver in a fatal hit-and-run on March 5 that killed a 23-year-old pedestrian on the East Valley Highway in the 2700 block of the Log Cabin Tavern.

givensachel Givens was hit by a vehicle as she was attempting to cross the East Valley Highway. The vehicle kept traveling north on the highway. Givens was rushed to Tacoma General Hospital, where she died last week.

Police are asking for anyone with any information about the hit-and-run to leave a message for detectives at 253-299-5678 (253-299-TIPS).  The police news release says the suspect vehicle, seen in surveillance video, appears to be a dark small sedan or sports car.  The vehicle will have front-end damage and possible damage to the windshield, police said.
