Couple wear 'Security' jackets; smash car windows

SEATTLE -- Police are looking for a man who was spotted Tuesday morning with a female partner busting the back windows of cars and grabbing things inside. When approached by residents, the couple allegedly pointed to their "Security" jackets and told concerned neighbors they were performing security checks, Normandy Park police said.

Police said the couple were spotted a little after 5 a.m.  Tuesday in the Manhattan Apartments parking lot in the 18000 block of 1st Avenue South breaking into cars. The suspects told a concerned resident they were security, and continued to break windows. The resident called police.

When officers arrived on the scene, the man fled but police were able to arrest the female suspect. She was booked into the South Correctional Multijurisdictional Misdemeanant Jail in Des Moines Tuesday.

Residents in Normandy Park reported that additional cars were busted into Wednesday morning. The method was the same as the day before, and police are on the lookout for the male suspect.

Anyone with information on the break-ins or the suspect are asked to call 911.
