Warrant issued in Renton park murder; police ask for help on suspect

hopkins1RENTON — A felony murder warrant has been issued for Jerome “C.J.” Linzy Hopkins in connection with the death of Lonnie Reynolds, who was shot in Liberty Park in Renton May 22, police said Thursday.

Reynolds, 20, was shot following a dispute at the basketball court. She was shot in the abdomen and died later at the hospital.

Police asked for the public’s help in locating Hopkins, 31, who is 6-foot and 305 pounds.  Police said he is associated with a dark-colored 2002 BMW 745 four-door sedan with the Washington license plate AIT0364. Police said he may also have access to a red 2005 Suzuki GSX R60 with Washington license plate 972478.

Police said Hopkins should be considered armed and dangerous and asks the public with any information on him to call 911 or the Renton Police Department at 425-430-7500
