GLENDALE, Ariz. – In the end, a tie was the only ending that made sense.

Chandler Catanzaro and Steve Hauschka both missed chip-shot field goals in the closing minutes of overtime, as the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals played to a 6-6 tie at University of Phoenix Stadium.

It was one of the more bizarre games in Seahawks history, and the only tie Seattle has ever played to. It was the first tie game with no touchdowns in 44 years in the NFL.

The Seahawks were utterly wretched on offense, but got spectacular play from the defense and special teams – at least until Hauschka missed a 28-yard field goal with 7 seconds remaining in overtime.

Just how bad was the offense? Seattle didn’t cross midfield for the first time in the game until six minutes had gone by in overtime. Jon Ryan punted nine times for 414 yards.
