Registered sex offender sentenced for child porn in Olympia

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — An Olympia man who pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography has been sentenced to more than three and a half years in prison.

The Olympian reports that 68-year-old Raymond Arrington was sentenced to 43 months on Monday. He has also been ordered to undergo sexual deviancy treatment and serve 17 months of probation.

Arrington was arrested in October 2015 after a friend who visited his apartment told police she saw pornographic images of young girls on his computer.

Court documents say Arrington, who is a registered sex offender, told police it was his First Amendment right to view the images.

Arrington's criminal history includes a 1990 conviction of child molestation in Clallam County. Court records say he was also charged with child rape in 2001, but was found not guilty at trial.
