Deputies: 4 killed when car goes off road, lands in fisheries pond

TULALIP, Wash. -- Four adults were killed early Tuesday morning after their car left the road and landed in a pond, the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office said.

Sheriff's deputies received a call that a truck had gone off the road, over a concrete embankment and into a fisheries rearing pond around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 7500 block of Totem Beach Road.

Shari Ireton says the truck was submerged with all four adults inside. She says the two men and two women died at the scene. The age of the victims and their identities were not immediately released.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash. Ireton says they won't know if drugs or alcohol were involved until all the evidence is gathered and toxicology tests are complete.

Ireton says the county medical examiner will identify the victims and determine how they died.
