1 dead in Kent shooting; suspect arrested

KENT -- Police are investigating a late night shooting that left one person dead in Kent.

Around 11:45 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to reports of shots fired at an apartment building in the 2700 block of South 256th Street, Kent police said. When officers arrived, they found one dead person.

Police said witnesses were able to describe the suspect, and he was later located and transported to the police department for further questioning. The suspect and the victim appeared to know each other, officers said.

Little else about the shooting was known. Detectives are still investigating the case.
