Injured 18-year-old rescued after falling 30 to 40 feet in Mount Rainier National Park

MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK -- An 18-year-old man from Tacoma fell 30 to 40 feet below Christine Falls in the park Thursday, suffered multiple injuries and was rescued by park rangers, the park said.

The fall took place from a bank below Christine Falls Bridge, the park said. Initial assessments indicate the teen suffered a head injury and fractured arm.

He was flown to the hospital by helicopter.
