Police: Man in pink wig secretly filmed in women's restroom

BELLEVUE -- A man was charged Thursday with multiple counts of voyeurism for allegedly pointing his iPhone under stall door's in a women's college restroom while wearing a pink wig and sunglasses to disguise himself.

Robert Whitehead is charged with four counts of voyeurism stemming from at least one incident earlier this year.  Whitehead is free from jail, but is slated to appear in King County Superior Court on June 11 to face the charges.

According to Bellevue police, officers received a call around 1 p.m. on January 18 from women at the Bellevue College in the 3000 Landerholm Circle SE, saying that a man wearing a pink wig was filming women in the bathroom. According to a victim, she was in a restroom at the college when she observed an iPhone tipping up at her from underneath the adjoining bathroom stall. The victim quickly left the restroom and told her friends.

Someone went to alert school security, while two other women waited for the suspect -- Whitehead -- to exit. A man wearing a pink wig and sunglasses exited the restroom and moved toward a parking lot. Security followed the suspect, and Whitehead was contacted and arrested by Bellevue police.

Whitehead was interviewed and his cellphone was confiscated. Whitehead allegedly said he was "testing boundaries" but had not committed any sexual acts, Bellevue police said.

Police obtained a warrant to search Whitehead's cellphone after he was released from jail. Detectives allegedly uncovered multiple photos of different women in bathroom stalls  around the city with their pants down. GPS coordinates were discovered, and police interviewed other potential victims.

At least one person was victimized in Seattle, police said.

Whitehead is currently not in jail.
