Police investigating device made to look like bomb found near trailer park

OLYMPIA -- Police are investigating a device allegedly made to look like a bomb that was found Monday evening near a trailer park.

Olympia Police were called around 8 p.m. to the area of Martin Way E and Phoenix Street NE with reports that a bomb was found, officers said. Officers arrived to the scene, found the device and cleared the area around a nearby trailer park, officials said.

The item was removed about an hour later and the area was reopened.

While investigating, police determined the device was not real, but made to look like a bomb.

The investigation into the fake bomb continues, officials said.
