MILLIKEN, Colo. — Owners of a barbecue restaurant in Milliken, Colorado plan to host a “White Appreciation Day,” offering a 10 percent discount to white customers next month, reports.

According to, the owners of Rubbin Buttz BBQ, Edgar Antillon and Miguel Jimenez, both Hispanic, said they plan to offer a 10 percent discount to all white customers and no one else on June 11.

“We have a whole month for Black History Month,” Antillon told “We have a whole month for Hispanic Heritage Month, so we though the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate white Americans.”

Both men told they expect to receive backlash about the day, as others in the community are upset over the planned event.

“It’s a perpetuation of racism,” Weld County civil rights activist and community organizer Ricardo Romero told

Antillon told reporters that the day isn’t meant to discriminate, but bring people together. He says as a Hispanic male, he has been the target of racism in the past. He hopes opening the discussion will prompt others to think differently.

“We’re all American, whether you came from a different country or you were born here,” Antillon said.

Antillon and Jimenez said there could be legal repercussions for the day, and are talking with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.

Interesting, but I’m sure all the white hating folks will be out in short order to tell us how “racist” it is that white people dare have an “appreciation day” of their own. Personally I think it’s kinda silly, but harmless.

He has a great point. If we want to end racism the do away with all the organizations that cater to African Americans only. is it only racism if it doesn’t benefit non whites?

I LOVE IT……it exposes all the fools who will complain about this, who at the same time do not complain about the incessant hispanic and black “heritage” celebrations

You know, this doesnt sound racist at all. I think its great that people of color are working toward equality for all. Isn’t that what America is all about? Equal opportunity? If more people of color stood up for real equality, being white and celebrating it just like Hispanic heritage month and black history month wouldn’t sound as bad. It would be nice to see pure equality. But, realistically, that will never happen.

Hilarious. He’s probably doing this so in a week or so he can claim his business is being harassed, followed by a GoFundMe plea, and then early retirement.

OR he could be a decent human being and by his actions trying to lead by example. Just a thought though. I know that is unbelievable that people could be decent to each other in this day and age.
