Local golfers trying to qualify for U.S. Open at Chambers Bay in June (VIDEO)

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. -- Imagine getting the chance to play in the U.S. Open at Chambers Bay alongside pros like Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Speith.

Q13 FOX Sports Director Aaron Levine explains how that might be possible for some local golfers:

"The coolest part about the U.S. Open is any golfer with a low enough handicap can try to qualify for the event at Chambers Bay in June.

So for all intents and purposes, the championship officially begins here at the home course next Monday, hosting one of 111 local qualifiers around the world.

Make your way through that and it's just 36 holes ten days before the championship starts for a limited number of spots in the event."
