Missing 2-year-old boy found safe, Amber Alert canceled
DES MOINES, Wash. -- A missing two-year-old boy who was allegedly abducted along with his mother Tuesday afternoon has been found safe in Renton.
Des Moines law enforcement officers say the 2-year-old boy was taken around noon Tuesday from his home in the 24000 block of 13th Place South.
Police believe the boy was with his maternal grandmother. She allegedly made threats to harm the child.
According to officers, the boy's mother was gagged, stunned with a device and bound at her home and abducted along with the boy to a different location. There, she was tied to a cupboard in the garage. The mother was able to escape the location without the boy, who was taken to another location.
Once she escaped she called a family member, and police were not notified until 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
Late Wednesday afternoon, police said they had located the child's grandmother.
