Eastern Washington gets NCAA bid, plays No. 4 seed Georgetown in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Georgetown has earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAA South Region and will open play against No. 13 seed Eastern Washington.

The teams meet Thursday in Portland.

The Hoyas (21-10) were ranked No. 23 in the Top 25 and reached the semifinals of the Big East Tournament before falling to Xavier on Saturday. Georgetown is led by D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, who is averaging 16.2 points per game.

Eastern Washington earned its second NCAA bid by rallying from 11 down to beat Montana in the Big Sky Tournament championship game. The Eagles (26-8) last went to the NCAA Tournament in 2004.

Eastern Washington is led by high-scoring junior Tyler Harvey, who is averaging 22.9 points per game.
