Plane skids off runway at snowy LaGuardia Airport

NEW YORK (AP) — A plane from Atlanta skidded off a runway at LaGuardia Airport while landing Thursday, crashing through a chain-link fence.

Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesman Joe Pentangelo (pehn-TAN'-jeh-loh) says the plane went off the runway late Thursday morning. The Fire Department of New York says any injuries appear to be minor.

Images show the plane resting in the snow with its nose through a chain-link fence. One video appeared to show the right wing sheared off, but the wing appeared intact in other images.

Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines says the 125 passengers and five crew members are deplaning on aircraft slides and have been bused to a terminal.

Pentangelo says the plane is apparently leaking fuel.

The National Transportation Safety Board is en route.
