Dozens hurt in Midwest double-decker bus crash

SEYMOUR, Ind. (AP) — Authorities say two dozen people were injured when a double-decker bus traveling from Chicago to Atlanta slid off an interstate in southern Indiana and rolled on its side early Saturday.

State police Trooper Clifton Elston says the bus, operated by Megabus and carrying 68 passengers, left the road about 5:30 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 65 in Seymour.

Trooper Tommy Walker says the most serious injury was a broken collarbone and that most received only minor cuts. He says 26 passengers were brought to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, but two refused treatment.

Walker says earlier reports that a passenger had been taken to Indianapolis hospital for treatment involved an unrelated accident.

He says the bus' speed and wintry conditions may have contributed to the crash.
