22-year-old Lake Stevens man killed, 2 others seriously injured in head-on crash

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. -- A 22-year-old Lake Stevens man was killed and two other people were seriously injured in a head-on collision Thursday afternoon on State Route 92 at Lake Drive Northeast.

A westbound  car crossed the center line into the path of an oncoming pickup truck, police said, adding that it appeared the driver of the car swerved to avoid colliding with another vehicle that was stopped in the roadway and preparing to make a left turn.

An adult male and juvenile female from Lake Stevens were in the pickup truck and transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the passenger car, the 22-year-old man from Lake Stevens, died at the scene, police said.
