The Department of Corrections says Michael Turningrope surrendered to law enforcement on Tuesday and was booked into the Yakima County Jail.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN YAKIMA COUNTY November 7, 2014 —
A convicted child rapist is running under the radar in Yakima County. The Violent Crimes Task Force thinks Michael Turningrope is hiding out on the Yakama Reservation.

Turningrope was convicted in 2003 of raping a young girl.

Now he is failing to register as a sex offender and it’s far from the first time.

The task force says the public and especially kids are definitely at risk with this man on the run.

Michael Turningrope is 32-years-old, 5-foot-7, 135 pounds and has three dots tattooed on his left wrist.
