Police: Victim in Okanagon County homicide was shot; two 16-year-old 'persons of interest' in custody

OKANOGAN COUNTY -- The victim in an Okanogan County homicide with two teens listed as 'persons of interests' was shot multiple times and left for dead, police said.

On Sunday night, Okanogan County deputies found the body of 39-year-old Patrick Alltus of Riverside in his residence at 151 Hosheit Road. Police previously had not released the manner of death, but now say he was shot multiple times.

Two teens living with the victim were considered the persons of interests following the body's discovery, police said, and were nowhere to be found Sunday. The teens were spotted south of Eugene, Ore., Monday afternoon. They were taken into custody for driving a stolen vehicle, and are being questioned.

Police are trying to determine a possible motive for the two teens, officials said.

"Detectives believe that the two teenagers are the suspects in the homicide case and will be trying to determine what happened at the scene and a possible motive," the Okanogan County Sheriff said in a press release.

An autopsy is scheduled for Alltus soon, officials said.
