NEW YORK, New York --  A bear cub was discovered Monday dead the middle of New York City's Central Park.

The 3-foot cub was found just before 10a.m. near the Strawberry Fields by a park worker according to PIX11.

The baby bear reportedly suffered some kind of trauma and lacerations to its side reported the Wall Street Journal.

NO bears have been reported missing from the zoo.

It is unclear how a bear of any kind ended up that deep into a city the size of New York.

New York Police's animal cruelty squad is investigating.
