Man's 7 rifles stolen in home burglary had been handed down from dad

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. --  A Lake Stevens man is hoping the public can help him find something very valuable to him -- and dangerous, if in the wrong hands:  Seven rifles handed down from his father.

Jason Lohre says someone broke down the front door of his home Wednesday afternoon and stole his TV, laptop computer -- and his rifles.

"My dad purchased them when he got out of the Air Force," Lohre said Thursday. "Most of them are 40 years old or more. I don't want them to end up in the wrong hands and have something happen."

Lohre said the rifles were not loaded and the thieves didn't bother to steal any ammunition.  He filed a report with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office.

He's hoping the thief stole the rifles to trade them in for cash and that they will turn up at a local pawn shop.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
