SEATTLE -- Police are searching for two men suspected of smashing the windows of dozens of cars in South Lake Union.

A resident called police around 3:00 a.m. and said two men armed with a baseball bat and a crowbar were smashing the windows of cars parked in the 2000 block of Westlake Avenue North.

The suspects fled in a white Trans Am before police arrived. Officers searched the neighborhood but did not find the suspects or the car.

A witness told officers that both men were carrying skateboards. One of them was wearing a hat, a gray sweatshirt, and khaki pants. The other was described as wearing a black sweatshirt and baggy black shorts.

Police said at least 34 vehicles were damaged in the vandalism spree.
