Police search for suspect in fatal shooting outside Tacoma nightclub
TACOMA -- Police were searching for a suspect Sunday after a man was shot and killed outside of a Lincoln District nightclub.
Officers said they found the man's body near South Yakima Avenue and 39th Street after responding to a shots fired call around 4:00 a.m.
Police called the SWAT team to the nightclub for a report that someone was being held there against their will, but that report turned out to be false.
Investigators questioned about 20 people as they left the club. Police spokesperson Loretta Cool said they did not know whether the shooting had any connection to the club.
Detectives have not made any arrests or released a description of the suspect.
The victim has not yet been identified.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is released.
