The rain is back (but not for the whole weekend)
Our bone dry June is over: 0.28" of rain so far since the rain began last night at SeaTac. As of this morning we've fallen to the 3rd driest June ever. Still half of the month to go.
SEATTLE -- After 17 days of unseasonably dry spring weather -- we're back to wet again today. As of 6am this morning, we've seen more than 0.28" of rain at SeaTac and we're not quite done yet. After a long dry streak when those rains come back -- it can cause all the dust, dirt, oil and grime to rise to the road surfaces. It makes for very slick conditions and we've seen lots of spin out accidents because of it.
TODAY is starting out pretty soggy commute that certainly affected today's drive into work around Seattle. We'll see that steady light rain moving east by late morning and scattered showers are expected to last into the mid-afternoon. High temps will be on the chilly side, only about 60 or 61 degrees. Tonight looks mostly cloudy.
TOMORROW looks cloudy and cool around the Puget Sound. More sun the further south you are. High temps about 60-65 for most areas west of the Cascades.
SUNDAY is Father's Day and I think it will be a pretty good one until we see some showers return to the picture by the late afternoon and evening. Highs about mid 60s again.
NEXT WEEK is looking very nice. We'll dry out by Monday afternoon and see lots more June sunshine by mid-week with temps getting back up into the mid 70s.
