NEW INFO: Missing disabled South Hill man likely in New Jersey
PUYALLUP -- A missing 29-year-old South Hill man was in Jersey City on Friday, according to his family. They say Cody Brown was treated and released at a hospital there Friday morning.
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department started investigating Brown's disappearance after he did not return home as expected from a trip to the South Hill Mall on Thursday.
Brown suffers from epilepsy and cerebral palsy and has the mental capacity of a 12-year-old.
His family says this is a dangerous situation because Cody did not take his medication with him.
Officials said Brown called one of his friends a few days ago and said he was on a bus to Sea-Tac Airport to take a flight to the east coast. Several ATM withdrawls were made using his card at Sea-Tac.
Cody Brown is 5-foot-10, 198-pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes. He walks with a limp and needs medication for seizures.
He is likely in the Jersey City/New York area -- possibly traveling with an individual or group. Officials say he is likely being manipulated or coerced.
His family is posting updates on a Facebook page called "Bring Cody Brown Home."
