threePORTLAND (KPTV) — Three Portland teenagers have been charged as adults in the case of a 16-year-old David Douglas High School student who was lured into a shed and had a swastika carved into his forehead with a box cutter.

Investigators said the kidnapping and torture happened on Southeast 111th Avenue during the snowstorm earlier this month.

Jess Taylor, 17, Jenna Montgomery and Blue Kalbach, both 15, lured the boy into a shed behind a house, according to police, and attacked him with a crowbar while also shooting him with a BB gun at close range in the chest, hand and groin. They then carved the swastika into his head by using a box cutter, police said.

As far as a motive, police said the victim had been perceived as a bully and the teens were retaliating against him.

There was a fourth suspect who is 14 years old and facing less serious charges. That teen is not being identified by FOX 12.

Kelli Murrain, the victim’s mother, said there’s “no understanding what they did.” She said she’s “almost ready to lose faith in humanity.”

“He’s been severely traumatized not just physically, but emotionally. It’s something he’s gonna live with forever, especially if the scar of (a) swastika doesn’t go away. Every time he looks in the mirror he’s gonna have that memory,” said Murrain.

Montgomery, Taylor and Kalbach appeared in court Wednesday afternoon. They pleaded not guilty and their bail was set at $3 million each.

If the "victim" was actually a bully did he deserve to be roughed up a bit yes, but these kids took it over the top, and need to be punished, but when a bully is constantly bulling people eventually one or more of them is going to snap, and when they do stuff like this happens… So to all the bully's out there keep it up and some day something like this or worse (you may get killed) will happen to you… On a more personal note when I was in elementary I was the smallest kid and had a couple of bully's, I finally got tiered of it and popped one of them, and ended up standing toe to toe with the other, I never had a problem again, in fact we ended up being friends the rest of the way through school. But those were the days when standing up to a bully was not punished and the known bully was treated as the victim… So who can tell me why self defense has become unacceptable?

He probably deserved it. These kids didn't understand the full meaning of a swastika. If they had carved the word "bully" instead this probably wouldn't even have it the news and they probably wouldn't have been charged as adults either.

Either way, I am hoping that this kid was a really bad bully. If not, then this is messed up. If he was a bully, he isn't anymore.

Lock them up for good! I don't want those brats out. They are dangerous. If they had a problem they should've told an adult. Instead they took it upon themselves to lie that teen and hurt him. I don't care if he was a bully that's someones son, brother, ect. I'd be mad if that even happened to my friend's son. Their game went too far.

What happens when you go an tell an adult countless times and they don't do shit ? I have four kids and have ran into the bullying so many times I have lost count, going to the school and asking for them to make it stop does NOTHING !!! Going to the resource officers only makes it worst, sometimes the only answer is to revert to violence. While I think they went to far with the carving, I say the bully asked for it and should be reminded you reap what you sow.

The school system here is crap when it comes to dealing with bullies! Here in America, every damn bully gets a slap on the wrist for bullying other kids despite how many times they do it. It's obvious out of the millions of kids who get bully every day, a few will take matters into their own hands, like all those school shootings that has erupted within the past 2 decades. Some kids just take it and are emotionally scarred for life, some kids take their own lives to end the misery, and others take the lives of the ones who hurt them before taking their own, whether it be a bullet to their own heads or a prison cell. Kids who bully deserves what's coming. I don't have any sympathy for them. I feel worse for the ones who were bullied and can't handle it anymore so they lash out at the bullies. I especially hate those parents who are bullies themselves and condone their kids actions. It's disgusting that many of these bullies get it from their damn parents. It's a real shame!
