Burst water pipe forces school closure

Lynnwood, WA --- Oak Heights Elementary School is closed today after a pipe burst and flooded several classrooms.  A total of six classrooms were flooded by water.  Carpets and other equipment are now a soggy mess.  The flood was first discovered shortly before 2 a.m. on Monday.  The water was immediately shut off.

Edmonds School District staff and restoration crews are working to get equipment out of the classrooms and beginning to clean up the big mess.

Around 540 students attend the elementary school.  The district sent out an automatic message to parents warning them that the school is closed for the day.   The district hasn't made a decision on whether school will be open back up on Tuesday.
