PORT ORCHARD – A young female cat is recovering at Cedar Creek Animal Hospital after a homeowner found the cat bound in duct tape, soaked in a flammable liquid, and burned.  The woman found the injured cat Friday morning in a flower bed, the Kitsap Sun reported.   The woman’s neighbor brought the cat to the clinic for treatment, and vets were able to stabilize the cat’s condition.

The Kitsap Humane Society’s animal welfare division is investigating the animal cruelty incident, the paper reported.  If someone is found guilty of animal cruelty they could face up to a $10,000 fine and five years in jail.

“Right now, it looks like the burns are superficial (and) we’re doing everything we can do to save this little one,” Dr. Mike Alberts, the clinic owner told the paper.  “She’s just the sweetest little thing.  All she wants to do is jump in your lap and purr” Alberts said.

The clinic has a fund for charity treatment of stray animals.  The humane will assume care of the cat, if the owner cannot be found, the paper reported.  Alberts advises cat owners to be vigilant of their pets, especially around Halloween.  Anyone with information on this act of animal cruelty should call the Kitsap Humane Society at (360) 692-6977

I will be in jail for life if I EVER see some creep committing an act like like this because I will beat him half to death and then treat him to the same end he planned for the trusting animal! These monsters should not be allowed to breathe our air!!

I hate people that do this, there's no excuse for it. Hopefully they find a nice cliff to jump off.

As for the kitty though I'm glad she's in good hands and will live to purr another day.

This is so disgusting! Extremely shocking just can't take it! Very inhumane act and by all means cruelty to animals!
