Sport orange this weekend, 2013 ‘Obliteride’ takes off to end cancer

bikerSEATTLE– The 2013 Obliteride celebration kicks off this weekend.

More than 700 cyclists are biking 25, 50, 100 and 180-mile routes Saturday, all starting and ending at Magnuson Park.

The fundraising effort is sponsored by Seattle’s Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Riders begin their journey at 7:30 a.m. —  the first riders to start crossing the finish line are expected around 9:30 a.m.   The Obliteride Start and Finish Festival will also be held at Magnuson Park, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., which includes live music, food, and entertainment for ages.

Obliteride organizers are encouraging riders and supporters to wear orange .
