Federal Way police investigating bizarre double shooting that left a woman dead

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Investigators in Federal Way are investigating a bizarre homicide. Two women suffered gunshot wounds -- one of them died -- and police originally thought it was at the hands of their 85-year-old roommate.

Police are now saying they do not know who is a victim and who is a suspect in this case.

Detectives say this is a "high complex crime scene" and they plan to continue their investigation inside the home Friday morning.

According to Federal Way Police, the 85-year-old who initially identified as the suspect is a quiet woman who has lived in the home for decades. They say the other two women, both in their 30s, hadn't lived in the home for long.

The shooting victim who survived was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

It was unclear late Thursday if the 85-year-old woman was still in custody.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
