Suspects sought in smash-and-grab robbery of Everett pot shop

EVERETT, Wash. -- Snohomish County Sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help to identify 5 burglary suspects who used a sledgehammer to break through a reinforced door at the Marijuana 99 store near Everett early in the morning on Wednesday, Oct 30th.

"They didn't come in taking anything in particular, it was just a ‘smash and grab.’ They're just grabbing handfuls of stuff in the bags and then totes that they had with them, but mostly stuff off our walls," said store manager Christopher Vincent.

The total loss with the damage to the door is around $7,000.

The suspects were wearing masks and gloves and were in and out in 2 minutes. The alarm was going off and deputies missed catching them by seconds. The store plans to increase their security by adding a second door and will install surveillance cameras at eye level. "It's something that weighs on my mind quite heavily working in this industry. We want to get to the bottom of it and find out who's doing this and put a stop to it," said Vincent.

Detectives are looking into whether this same crew is responsible for other recent pot shop burglaries.

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 if you have any information to help deputies identify any of the suspects. You will be anonymous. You will not be asked to give your name.
