Man killed in Tacoma hit-and-run, two vehicles sought

TACOMA, Wash. — Tacoma police are looking for two vehicles that are believed to have struck and killed a 68-year-old man a little before 9 p.m. Friday.

Officer Loretta Cool said it happened at 8:49 p.m. near the intersection of South 90th Street and South Hosmer Street.

Cool said the man was crossing the street and was struck by a white sedan and then a white SUV.

Both vehicles fled, she said. The man, who was identified as Michael R. Demorest by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, died at the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information about the vehicles to come forward.
