Two dead after shooting in Des Moines

DES MOINES, Wash. -- Two people are dead after a shooting Wednesday morning in Des Moines.

Police said it happened near the intersection of 4th Ave South and South 213th Street.

Two people were found shot in the front yard of a house. Both people were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said it was a murder-suicide involving a mother and her son. Des Moines Police Commander Mike Graddon said a man who appeared to be in his 60s shot his elderly mother.

Neighbors say the house was pretty much abandoned beside the parents coming to do yard work twice a month.
