Bremerton pet-grooming couple pleads guilty to animal abuse

BREMERTON, Wash. — Pet ownership restrictions have been placed on a pet-grooming couple who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty charges.

The Kitsap Sun reported Tuesday that 68-year-old Cherilyn M. Wilson and her 92-year-old husband Roy Wilson pleaded guilty to multiple misdemeanor charges in Kitsap and Lewis counties.

Officials say each of them is allowed to own one dog and one cat and Cherilyn Wilson can spend no more than three hours grooming animals for her business, Happy Tails Pet Grooming.

Her husband can spend two hours grooming for the business in Bremerton.

They each faced a felony charge in May for neglecting a pony at a home south of Seattle in Winlock; the animal was later euthanized.

Authorities say the couple also hoarded 36 animals in their Chico home west of Seattle.
