Motorcyclist dies after getting hit by truck head on

SNOHOMISH, Wash. — A 30-year-old motorcyclist was killed when a truck hit him head on east of Lake Stevens.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

Detectives with the Collision Investigation Unit believe the 44-year-old male driver of a truck was traveling southbound on Newberg Road when he passed another vehicle, striking a motorcycle that was traveling northbound head-on.

The driver of the motorcycle died at the scene.

The sheriff's office says the driver of the truck tested positive for alcohol in his blood and has been booked into the Snohomish County jail for vehicular homicide.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner has not yet released the identity of the motorcyclist.
