Double fatal crash closes Highway 161 in Graham

GRAHAM, Wash. -- Both lanes of Highway 161 were shut down for several hours in Graham on Tuesday after a deadly crash.

The crash happened along Meridian E and 244rd St. Ct on Graham Hill around 3 p.m.

Authorities say a southbound car crossed into the northbound lanes and slammed into a semi-truck.  Moments after the crash, the car caught on fire.

When Graham Fire and Rescue crews got there, two people in the car were dead.

The road was closed reopened as of 9:39 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Johnna Batiste.
