Suspect arrested in deadly SeaTac shooting

SEATAC, Wash. -- Authorities say the suspect in a deadly weekend shooting in SeaTac has been taken into custody.

According to detectives, a 36-year-old man was killed in the parking lot of the Safeway located on South 164th Street around 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Investigators say an argument between the gunman and the victim escalated to violence when the victim was shot in the chest.

Deputies say the victim tried to run away after he was shot, but he collapsed in the parking lot as the gunman took off in a blue car.

On Sunday family members of the victim gathered in the Safeway parking lot to mourn their sudden loss.

“I am so hurt over this because that was my baby boy," said Willette Evans, the victim’s mother. “I just want justice for my son. “

The suspect, a 36-year-old man, was arrested Monday in Renton, according to the sheriff's office.
