Motorcyclist dead, 1 in custody after Thurston Co. crash


THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. -- Authorities say a motorcyclist is dead and another driver is in custody Tuesday evening after a crash in Thurston County.

It happened along SR-510 and Rockcress Drive. Washington State Patrol Trooper Johnna Batiste ">said on Twitter that the crash involved a motorcycle and a car.

Troopers said the motorcycle was on 510 when the car made a left turn in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into the car, killing the rider.

There were four people in the car, including three children. One of the kids, an 8-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

The driver of the car, a 36-year-old, was taken into custody on suspicion of vehicular homicide and reckless endangerment, Batiste said.
