Man found shot on State Route 520 bridge killed self

SEATTLE — Authorities say a 23-year-old man found shot to death in a vehicle Monday on the eastbound State Route 520 Bridge killed himself.

Washington State Patrol trooper Rick Johnson said on Twitter Tuesday that through an investigation with the King County Medical Examiner's Office the shooting was ruled a suicide.

Johnson says emergency dispatchers received a call at 5:10 a.m. Monday about a woman on westbound SR 520 trying to flag down a car. She told troopers a man was shot in a vehicle on the shoulder.

The state patrol had initially investigated the incident as a homicide.

The 520 bridge connects Seattle with its eastern suburbs.
