1 dead in Cal Anderson Park shooting

SEATTLE -- Authorities say a man died Wednesday evening after a shooting at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

According to Seattle Police, witnesses called 911 just before 10 p.m. to report that a man had been shot following a disturbance at the basketball courts in Cal Anderson Park.

Officers arrived and found the 21-year-old man unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Seattle Fire Department Medics attempted lifesaving measures but the victim later died.

Officers on scene are still working to develop a possible suspect description.

Homicide detectives are now interviewing witnesses and Crime Scene Investigators are collecting evidence.

The victim has not been identified.
