Guard charged with sex abuse of teen he met at hospital

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. (AP) — A Silverdale medical center security guard has been accused of trading cigarettes, alcohol and drugs for sex with a teen who was at the hospital because she was suicidal.

The Kitsap Sun reports Dennis Mallillin was charged Tuesday with commercial sexual abuse of a minor and rape of a child.

Mallillin worked at Harrison Medical Center watching patients at the hospital who were suicidal, according to charging documents, and a girl told investigators that after meeting him he gave her items in exchange for sex over a few years. Documents say a second girl told investigators she joined the first girl at his house and was told they would have to "do stuff to stay there."

CHI Franciscan, the parent company for Harrison, confirmed Mallillin was placed on leave and that the company is cooperating with law enforcement.

It wasn't known if Mallillin has an attorney.
